Out of the libraries and onto the streets: Just what is the relationship between political philosophy and political activism? Is there any relationship at all? French philosopher Alain Badiou's new book Philosophy for Militants is the handbook for the struggles ahead, arguing that resurgent communism is the only tool for universal emancipation. The students, the young, workers and immigrants - the new militants - and it is their politics that must condition the task of philosophy.
